Congrats to Jeremy Hill of Ocoee High School for winning the 2010 High School Programming Tournament: Online Edition!  Elyse Chase of Winter Springs and Stephen Royal of Stanton College Prep placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively.  Thanks to all for participating!

Based upon the wide wealth of knowledge and experience gained from being on the UCF Programming Team, team members go on to do incredible things after departing from UCF! Here are just a few examples:

  • Many have gone onto positions at very noteworthy companies including:

    • Amazon.com
    • AMD
    • Electronic Arts
    • Facebook
    • Google
    • IBM
    • Industrial Light & Magic
    • Lockheed Martin
    • Microsoft
    • NVIDIA

    • TopCoder

  • Past team members now work in such areas as biotech, anti-spam technologies, simulation, digital film effects, system software, web technologies, social networking, and games.

 

  • Some have gone on to create their own companies, becoming successful entrepreneurs with dozens of employees.

 

  • Others have made interesting discoveries and received patents for doing so!

 

  • Still others have gone onto advanced graduate work and, having received their Ph.D. degrees, now work as professors and research scientists at universities and companies throughout the nation.

 

Team members have also participated in internships while still in school including:

  • The ExtremeBlue internship program at IBM (some of whom took positions at IBM after graduation!).

 

  • And also Lockheed Martin, who has two locations in Orlando.
